Home Information For Students Career Services
Our Career Services staff work with each student to assist in their employment search. The process begins long before the student graduates, and many of our students accept employment immediately upon graduation. Our close working relationships with employers throughout the region keep our students and graduates abreast of career opportunities as, and sometimes before, they arise.
The Career Services Department at CompuCollege has the primary function of coaching and motivating students back into the work force. To achieve this objective, the students participate in a two-week program that focuses on job search skills. This course is offered at the end of each student's program and is a mandatory part of all Diploma programs.
This ten-day session includes researching job markets, resumes, cover letters and thank you letters, preparing and follow-up during the interview stage, and understanding and meeting employers' expectations. In addition to learning proven job search techniques, this session is designed to improve the student's self-confidence and self-esteem.
The students have access to computers, printers and the personnel of the Career Services Department to ensure a top quality presentation is achieved. The graduates are able to use the facilities throughout their job search and may repeat the job search segment as often as they desire.
The Career Services Department has established solid relationships with members of the business community who advise us of job leads. The department matches these job leads to students with the appropriate skills and notifies these students to determine if they are interested in applying for available positions.
